1. Information you provide
We collect information you submit directly, including your name, email address, budget, location or currency region, intended PC use, games and applications, performance targets, preferences, existing components, parts-list links, consultation choice, advisor messages, follow-up questions, and profile photo if you choose to upload one.
If you schedule a consultation, you provide scheduling information through Cal.com. If you purchase a service, Stripe processes your payment information. RigAdvisor receives transaction details such as payment status, amount, currency, checkout identifiers, and limited billing information, but does not receive or store your complete card number.
2. Information collected automatically
Our hosting, authentication, database, and security providers may process basic technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, requested pages, authentication events, and error or security logs. We use this information to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve the service—not to build third-party advertising profiles.
The consultation form saves an unfinished draft in your browser’s local storage so refreshing or leaving the page does not erase your answers. That draft stays on the device and browser where it was entered, is removed after successful submission, and can also be removed by clearing site data in your browser.
If you enable push notifications, we store the browser-provided push subscription details required to deliver them. You can revoke that permission through your browser settings.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalize, and deliver the consultation or report you requested.
- Operate password-free account access, advisor messaging, follow-ups, and notifications.
- Process payments, recover interrupted checkout, schedule appointments, and maintain transaction records.
- Respond to support, privacy, refund, or legal requests.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and technical failures.
- Understand service performance using operational and aggregate information.
- Meet legal, accounting, tax, and recordkeeping obligations.
4. When information is shared
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only as needed with providers that help operate the service, such as:
- Supabase for database, storage, and authentication services.
- Vercel for website hosting and delivery.
- Stripe for payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Cal.com for appointment availability and scheduling.
- Resend and browser push infrastructure for service-related notifications.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect customers or the service, to investigate fraud or abuse, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.
5. Retention
We retain consultation, report, message, account, and transaction records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, preserve customer access, meet legal or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Different records may have different retention periods. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including restricted administrative access, server-side credentials, signed webhooks, and password-free authentication links. No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Keep access to your email account secure and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.
7. Your choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account, or object to certain processing, subject to applicable law and records we must retain. You can disable push notifications in your browser and clear locally saved drafts through your browser’s site-data controls.
Send privacy requests from the email address associated with your account to daniel@rigadvisor.build. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
8. Children
RigAdvisor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
9. International processing and changes
RigAdvisor currently serves customers in the United States and Canada. Our providers may process information in the United States or other locations where they operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Questions can be sent to daniel@rigadvisor.build.
